Pictured above with Children’s Cup Founder Dave Ohlerking (whom she knew as “Pop”), Treasure is a sweet and beautiful child whose father died, and her mother that named her “Treasure” abandoned her. She went to live with an aunt and the aunt died. Then Treasure heard that her older sister lived near our Murray Camp CarePoint and came there to find her. But when Treasure got to the place where here sister was supposed to be, her sister had moved and nobody knew where.
Treasure had no place to go until God moved on the heart of a widow who was struggling to just stay alive and care for two of her grandchildren. She told Treasure she could live with her — they’d share what little they had.
Treasure stayed with the lady and started spending her days at the Children’s Cup CarePoint. She got a meal every day and learned about Jesus. And from that point things have only gotten better. Because of our supporters’ generosity, Children’s Cup was able to pay for Treasure to go school again. We bought her uniforms and school supplies, and after just a few weeks she became a good and serious student with valid hopes of being able to get an education that would be enough to help her find a good job.
Treasure’s story continues thanks to people who care, and a God who loves extravagantly.
