Children’s Cup + Church Planting and Development = New Level of Effectiveness in Missions
If you’re a pastor or church leader looking for a more effective, 21st century way to connect your church to missions, we want to help. Let’s face it; sometimes missions can seem messy. Partnering with Children’s Cup and our twenty-year proven track record can decomplicate missions and give you an effective and easy way to fire up your people to reach out around the world and at home. One of the most exciting opportunities is when your church can plant a new campus for your church in Africa, or come alongside an church in Africa, and help develop it to be a life-giving place of hope in their community.
Here’s how it works:
STEP 1: FEED HUNGRY KIDS
It all starts with feeding children in a community in Africa. We target the feeding to the specific community where we intend to plant a church campus. When a child is hungry he can’t hear you tell him, “Jesus loves you.” But when you’ve given him a meal it’s amazing how clear the message of Jesus’ love becomes for them.
STEP 2: EXTEND CHILD SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY
This is one of the key factors that will give EVERY MEMBER of your church a sense of direct connection with the new campus in Africa. When they sponsor a child through our partnership with Mission of Mercy, they’ll be able to choose a child from the community where your new campus is! And when you send missions teams from your church to your new campus in Africa, they’ll be able to actually meet the children they sponsor. This is an overwhelmingly powerful connection for your church.
STEP 3: PROVIDE LAUNCH AND FACILITY BUDGET
Depending on the size and location where you choose to plant a church campus, this could be as little as $900/month or could include an investment between $40-100k for a permanent facility.
STEP 4: SUPPORT FOR THE PASTOR
Because of the partnerships Children’s Cup brings to the table, there are very few monthly expenses for the church other than supporting the pastor and his family, which takes just a few hundred dollars each month.
A THREE-YEAR PLAN
We go into this with a three-year commitment together. During this time, Children’s Cup missionaries and staff will ensure accountability and oversee the work on the ground. Your church will have plenty of opportunity to communicate with the pastor and the campus leadership, allowing you to inject your church’s specific DNA into the new campus.
After three years, the campus should be healthy and growing to the point where it can be self-supporting. So at this point, you have a choice to release this new church to stand on its own as a continuing part of the network of churches in Africa, or you can continue to stay connected with them as one of your church’s campuses.
At Children’s Cup, we know that feeding the hungry and caring for the sick is only a starting point. To bring about true, lasting transformation in a community, it requires a life-giving local church. That’s why we’ve already partnered with life-giving churches like Healing Place Church (Pastor Dino Rizzo), Celebration Church (Pastor Stovall Weems), and Celebration Church of Texas (Pastor Joe Champion) to plant campuses in Africa.
