Education is a huge component in our strategy to give hope. Many families in Africa can’t afford to pay the school fees required by government schools. One of the most horrific tragedies in this is that the children who aren’t in school often prostitute themselves or scrounge in the garbage dump in search of food.

When we present them with a scholarship to go to school, their world is changed immediately. Their opportunity for a childhood is restored. Their opportunity to dream of a future is born. Instead of “IF I grow up, I want to be a teacher,” they begin to say, “WHEN I grow up, I want to be a teacher.”

Children’s Cup’s Back-to-School Project is more than just a cool way to get involved. It is changing worlds by giving hope.
